CASE STUDY

In 2018, Becto, an established eCommerce retailer specialising in stapling and nailing products, approached Opace to upgrade their website from Magento 1 to Magento 2. The project began with the initial setup of Magento 2 with a compatible and refreshed theme, styled to meet Becto’s brand requirements.

The migration involved transferring all content from the existing site to the new Magento 2 platform, including manual population of pages, copy and images. Essential features such as a one-page checkout extension and a matrix rates extension for postcode-based shipping charges were set up to enhance functionality. Trustpilot integration and tracking data requirements for Google Analytics were also implemented.

Responsive design testing ensured the site looked and functioned correctly on mobile devices. Internal user flow testing was conducted to identify and fix any bugs or errors. Following user feedback and final amendments, the new Magento 2 site was made live.

In early 2019, Opace provided hosting and upgrade services for Becto’s Magento 2 website, placing them on a high-spec dedicated Litespeed server, ensuring optimal performance and security.
