CASE STUDY: Joint Office of Gas Transporters
The Joint Office of Gas Transportation is the code administrator for the Uniform Network Code which sets out the common transportation arrangements for the UK gas industry. Working with the Joint Office of Gas Transportation in 2010, we were briefed to improve the website functionality, but not to change its overall ‘look and feel’. The approach agreed was to develop a new Drupal CMS based website. The results of using the open source platform Drupal for this particular application have been very successful, especially as the organisation was concerned that any changes may not be welcomed by existing website users. The CEO commented that the new website was “easy to navigate, modern feeling and slick”. The project also included the manual migration of over 6,000 documents to the new website in order to reinstate its previous functionality.
The Result
The Joint Office of Gas Transporters and their users were happy with the new-and-improved solution, commenting that they were “very pleased with the new website and the huge effort Opace have made, which included the migration and manual transfer of over six thousand documents from the old site”.
