Successfully migrated 600+ poems from a static HTML site to WordPress, resulting in a modern, user-friendly website with improved instant search functionality.
CASE STUDY
In January 2016, Poetic Expressions, a not-for-profit website supporting the Marie Curie charity, partnered with Opace to enhance their online presence and visibility. The collaboration began with an in-depth SEO audit, where we identified several opportunities to optimise the website’s structure, content, and keyword targeting.
The existing website was built using Dreamweaver and static HTML. The non-responsive website contained several hundreds of pages, and its static nature meant it was a challenge for the customer to maintain.
Our approach was to rebuild the website using WordPress and a phased SEO strategy focused on improving site architecture, on-page SEO, keyword targeting, and content. With 600+ poems migrated to the site and categorised according to key themes, it was essential to ensure these could be found quickly by visitors and Google. The project resulted in a visually appealing, easy-to-navigate layout, mobile-responsive user experience, and a powerful instant search function.
Throughout the project, we’ve provided ongoing technical support, regular performance reports and suggestions to try and improve visibility and enhance donations to this important charitable cause.
The Results:
Our website redesign efforts resulted in a simple-to-maintain website that the client could easily manage and visitors could easily navigate across a wide range of devices. Customer and visitor feedback was very positive following the rebuild.
