CASE STUDY

Since 2010, we have established a successful long-term relationship with Acorns Children’s Hospice, providing a range of invaluable services, including web design, eCommerce, seo, hosting and ongoing technical support.

Having created a Joomla website for Acorns Children’s Hospice back in 2010 and providing ongoing technical support over the years, the charity chose us again in 2015 to rebuild their website using a fresh new design and modern approach to web development. We agreed that a responsive mobile-friendly website was a must and recommended WordPress over Joomla, combined with a powerful Page Builder framework called Divi to help Acorns keep in full control of their content and design.

We managed the huge migration of content from Joomla to WordPress while at the same time delivering the keyword research and site-wide seo to help the website become more effective in Google. Since the new website went live, we’ve provided training, ongoing technical support, seo consultancy and continual enhancements to the website. Our most recent projects have included the development of a new WooCommerce online shop, microsite and events system for Acorns. These ongoing projects are important to ensure that the charity communicates effectively to its stakeholders and continues to raise the vital funds required to keep the service going.

The Result

Our work has delivered real benefits to Acorns and the people who rely on their service. The nature of our long-term relationship means that we’re able to help Acorns to continually improve, making recommendations to ensure our digital marketing activity meets the needs of the charity cost effectively.

We were recently recommended to use the web development expertise of Opace by our own website designers, Whitehouse Mainwaring, in order to facilitate the installation and construction a brand new website framework. Given a very tight 12 week deadline to construct some 129 pages, and despite the odds, we successfully launched as planned. This wonderful achievement was testament to the teamwork, dedication and professionalism shown by Opace, bringing their expertise and moulding it to the very different expertise of the other stakeholders ie designers, web host and ourselves. David with his team at Opace provides an invaluable new project and regular technical support for our website & seo development. We get a great deal of support with seo, which is really important to us and we’re starting to see some really good results from that work. We’ve found it to be a really invaluable relationship.
