A leading Birmingham web design company this week welcomed a plan backed by Michael Heseltine to help generate economic growth in the Birmingham area. David Bryan, founder and MD of Birmingham web design company Opace, said this week that any plans to generate jobs and income in the region must be welcomed.
Mr Bryan’s statement came as the Greater Birmingham & Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership is set to begin a three-month review ahead of a ground-breaking pilot scheme to stimulate economic growth. The plans were unveiled by Lord Heseltine author of last year’s ‘No Stone Unturned’ report into the devolution of power from central government to the English regions, on Thursday 3 January. The LEP will now draw up a business plan for a pilot scheme. If successful, it could result in up to £1 billion per year being diverted from Westminster directly into the area, allowing local control of major transport and infrastructure work. A trial period would see the LEP managing government funds for local skills, infrastructure, employment support, housing, regeneration and business support. The LEP will now work with the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce Group to determine the projects and work that are most likely to create jobs and regenerate communities. Mr Bryan continued “We have worked with many organisations who are seeking to grow their businesses, find new markets or develop income streams, so we know from personal experience that the region is full of entrepreneurs and business people who are desperate to develop their companies but need both support and an improvement to economic conditions to achieve this.” Opace was founded in 2008 with the aim of delivering exceptional web and internet marketing solutions that deliver tangible results for their clients. “I realised that some agencies offer brilliant technical solutions but very little service; others were the reverse. I believed it was possible to deliver the right solutions with outstanding service that delivered great results” said Mr Bryan. Opace have grown to a team of twelve experienced consultants who deliver creative internet marketing solutions that have helped their clients develop their organisations, make the most of new technologies, SEO and other web marketing opportunities.
