CASE STUDY

Andy Loos, a well-known UK provider of portable toilet solutions for events and hire, approached Opace in 2018 to modernise their website and improve the user experience, especially for their high-end clientele. The existing website had become dated, and they required a fresh, elegant design that aligned with their upmarket brand image. The new site also needed to simplify product browsing and improve the user journey, particularly on mobile.

Opace began by designing and developing a completely new WordPress site using the Divi theme. The project kicked off with the creation of custom design concepts for the homepage and several key pages, allowing the client to choose from different layouts that best represented their vision. We focused on delivering a clean, sophisticated design, drawing inspiration from luxury event websites such as Scarlett Events and Papillon Events.

One of the key elements of the redesign was the inclusion of a new, user-friendly price calculator. The existing system was overhauled and rebuilt as a plugin, making it more visually appealing and easier to access from any page. By referencing the successful “toilet calculator” seen on competitor sites like Site Equip and Euroloo, we created a more streamlined and bold version for Andy Loos, integrating features like a ‘request a callback’ option to capture leads directly through the calculator process.

Mobile experience was a top priority throughout the project. The redesign introduced larger navigation elements, clearer layouts, and a simplified contact form that broke down the process into multiple steps, making it easier for users to interact with the site on smaller screens. These changes were crucial, as a large portion of Andy Loos’ traffic comes from mobile devices, especially during events and while on-site.

After finalising the designs and layouts, we migrated the existing blog content and product data from their two previous websites—andyloos.co.uk and signature.andyloos.co.uk—onto the new platform. This helped maintain their SEO equity while improving the site’s overall performance and appearance. Post-launch, we installed and configured the LiteSpeed Cache plugin to optimise site speed and performance, particularly improving loading times on mobile.

The site’s hosting is managed on a dedicated UK-based server with 99.9% uptime, offering reliability and peace of mind for the client as their business grows.

The Result:

The new site went live in 2018 and Opace continues to support Andy Loos today through ongoing hosting and technical support when required, ensuring the site stays secure and fast.
